According to BNP Paribas Real Estate Czech Republic total investment volume in real estate exceeded 3.3 bn EUR, creating an absolute record for the Czech real estate market and exceeding by a great distance last year´s volume of 2.8 bn EUR. The 2016 investment numbers were heavily influenced by the P3 platform deal, the value of the Czech element of the portfolio exceeded 700 mil. EUR. Other major transactions included The Park, Florentinum, City Tower and Enterprise Office Center. Office assets have thus taken the highest share of the total volume at in excess of 40% .
Remodeling, repositioning, redesign and redevelopment. These are terms already established in the Czech real estate market, now they are becoming more and more common also for shopping centres and other retail schemes, which have been constructed ten or twenty years ago and are reaching the end of their first life cycle. In order to remain attractive for tenants and occupiers, they need to undergo a proces of change. This can be awaited also in the years 2017-2018.
